John couldn't believe what these neighborhoods had become! He drove slowly down Union Street. "This is Park Slope," he said. "Daddy grew up just a few blocks away." His wife smiled as he beamed with pride. She had seen this all before, but this was the first time for the kids. John wanted to show them some of his history before it all got away. It had already changed so much. This was not the Brooklyn of his memories. The secret got out! "This is it, kids. Grandma Rose called this Cobblehill, Grandpa Fred called it South Brooklyn. This was home!" Henry Street. John was sad to see how his old neighborhood had grown up, but he had grown up, too. He looked at his wife and kids. They were his new memories. John beamed as they passed his old building.
